Globe trotter

OVERNIGHT Section cover and 1/4 page for this weekends Boston Globe

the story was about how to love doing you taxes - Dan had given me a call and just thrown out things like "what if it was enjoyable" something you looked forward to-  maybe even loved - here was my first approach:

After passing those in Dan wondered if i could approach it more showing someone happy to hand over money - like if giving taxes was like giving someone something nice.

Mozzy Ozzborne

Little spot for Alberta Oil about punishing companies that travel to countries like Chad and just drain specific locations of their resources. had fun trying to tie the location pin to a mosquito - due to the size i wanted to keep things nice and graphic

Murder she wrote

Was recently asked to do a cover for Broward New times (also running in Houston, and Miami) about the enormous amount of murder happening in Puerto Rico the last few years - many things are to blame - largely drugs, and police corruption - but things are out of control, you can be killed for almost no reason. Really wanted to show death being so common its forgotten about / over looked. the cover we landed on was a hybrid of a few ideas i pitched. i tried to get away with not using Puerto Rico's flag - and opted for showing location more, but in the end, it became an essential part of the concept.
